Stigall Counseling Services

“The Boy asks the Horse, ‘What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever said?’
The Horse replies, ‘Help.’”

Asking for help is not giving up — it’s an act of courage. If you’re considering counseling, know this: you’re already taking a powerful and brave first step.

Welcome, I’m Kevin Stigall, ALC, and I am glad you’re here.

I work with adults, teens, and couples facing a range of life’s challenges — including grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. Many of the individuals I support are also navigating spiritual or existential questions, inner struggles that feel hard to name, or the emotional weight of ongoing stress.

  • Grief can arise from many forms of loss, such as the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the loss of a dream. Grief is not only about sadness; it can bring up feelings of anger, depression, anxiety, and confusion. Counseling provides a supportive space to process these emotions and regain your sense of agency and hope as you navigate your journey through loss.

  • Stress is a natural part of life.  However, chronic or overwhelming stress can impact your mood, health, and relationships. Whether it’s related to work, school, caregiving, or life transitions, counseling can help you identify stressors, set boundaries, and find helpful ways to deal with stressors.

  • Anxiety manifests as worry, physical tension, or a sense of dread, which can be overwhelming. Counseling can help uncover the root causes and develop tools to manage it. Through techniques like mindfulness and reframing negative thought patterns, counseling can help you find a sense of peace.

  • Relationships can be challenging when there’s miscommunication, conflict, or unmet needs. Counseling can help couples understand each other more deeply, improve communication, rebuild trust, and develop sustainable ways to connect, fostering a relationship where both partners feel heard and valued.

  • Spiritual and existential questions often emerge during times of change, crisis, or even for reasons you may not fully understand. Counseling offers a safe space to explore doubts, find meaning, and reconcile your beliefs with your experiences, helping you navigate life’s big questions in an authentic way.

  • Adolescence is a time of significant emotional and social change. Counseling provides teens with a safe space to express themselves, manage stress, and develop coping skills. It also helps parents better understand their teen’s challenges and learn how to support them during this critical period.
